What began as a varsity side hustle quickly turned into a lifelong passion. In 1993, Ezanda founded Dolphin Swimming School, and today she remains its proud owner and driving force. With decades of experience, she’s not just a coach—she’s an all-round specialist whose expertise spans specialized swim training and hydrotherapy.

But Ezanda’s talents don’t stop at the pool’s edge. She’s a formidable golfer and an adventurer at heart, having conquered endurance races like the Freedom Challenge, the Absa Cape Epic, and Sani2C. Her energy, skill, and unwavering commitment make her a true inspiration to everyone who crosses her path.

Igna

If you stop by the office in the afternoon, chances are you’ll be greeted by Igna’s friendly face. Her calm confidence and welcoming energy make her a cornerstone of our team. When she’s not helping things run smoothly at work, Igna’s heart belongs to the great outdoors. She cherishes time with her family, finds joy in horseback riding, and keeps her stride strong with regular runs. Whether she’s navigating trails or tackling tasks, Igna brings passion and purpose to everything she does.

HEAD coach Carla

Carla has been a cornerstone of the Dolphin Team for the past eleven years, bringing unmatched energy, expertise, and heart to everything she does. As our Head Coach, she leads with passion and precision, overseeing athlete progress and nurturing strong client relationships.
A former South African Cycling Champion, Carla’s competitive spirit took her across Europe’s racing circuits and onto the global stage—representing South Africa at the Mountain Bike World Championships and the UCI World Cup #1 in 2009. She is a World Triathlon Level 1 Technical Official, already gaining experience officiating at international events, with her eyes firmly set on the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.Beyond the accolades, Carla is known for her love of the outdoors and her fun-loving, adventurous personality. Whether she’s coaching, connecting with clients, or exploring nature, Carla brings joy, drive, and a whole lot of heart.

Retief

Oom Retief is more than just a driver—he’s a guardian of safety, a pillar of reliability, and a source of inspiration to everyone who crosses his path. Whether it’s early mornings or late afternoons, he ensures that our school groups travel safely to and from swimming, always with a calm presence and a watchful eye.

But his dedication doesn’t stop at the school gates. As a proud representative of Triathlon South Africa, Oom Retief has taken his passion for sport across borders, traveling the world and flying the South African flag high. His commitment to excellence is evident not only in his work but in his personal achievements—he has completed 10 Comrades Marathons, a feat that speaks volumes about his endurance, discipline, and heart.

Oom Retief reminds us that greatness isn’t always loud—it’s often found in quiet consistency, in showing up, and in leading by example. We’re lucky to have him in our community.

Damian

Damian went to Menlopark High School

Chanè

With a degree from the University of South Africa and a specialization in children’s behaviour and solutions, Nè brings both empathy and expertise to everything she touches. Her dedication to helping young minds thrive is matched only by her own vibrant spirit.
She’s not just brainy—she’s got rhythm too! Nè holds her South African colours in dance, a testament to her discipline, artistry, and flair. When she’s not moving to the beat, you’ll find her nose buried in a book, exploring worlds through words.
But her story’s still unfolding. Her next big dream? To dive deep—literally—and become a certified scuba instructor. Whether she’s navigating the depths of the ocean or the complexities of childhood development, Nè does it all with grace, grit, and a spark that inspires.

Elmarie (Ella)

Ella is the face you will see in the mornings and Saturday’s in our office. She also coaches in the afternoons. She loves teaching and works well with kids

Cailin is a second year Human Genetics student at TUKS. She represented KZN in swimming throughout High School. She loves sports and the outdoors.
