LEVELS FOR CHILDERN

 

Level 1: Tadpole

  1. Reacts to instructions from the instructor
  2. Climb in + out of the pool with assistance
  3. Monkey walk with help from instructor
  4. Floats on back, with head from instructor
  5. Blows bubbles
  6. Splash hands + feet

 

Level 2: Frog

  1. Face in water + blow bubbles
  2. Floats on tummy + back with help from instructor
  3. Monkey walk alone

 

Level 3: Seahorse

  1. Floats on back alone
  2. Crocodile walk on step
  3. Alone on noodle
  4. Humpty dumpty + catch the side (with help from instructor)
  5. Kick on tummy with progression to 4-5m doggy paddle (with assistance)

 

Level 4: Starfish

  1. Freestyle kicking with board alone
  2. Jump in pool + catch side alone
  3. 4-6m doggy paddle alone
  4. Dive from sitting position
  5. Jump in pool + float on back

 

Level 5: Crabs

  1. 6m 1 arm crawl with high elbow + down sweep
  2. 6m 1 arm backstroke with down sweep
  3. 6m dolphin kick
  4. 20m backstroke kick + 20m freestyle kick
  5. Dive from the step

 

Level 6:Fish

  1. 20m backstroke with correct timing (big pool)
  2. 10m dolphin kick + 10m breaststroke kick
  3. 20m catch-up with help from instructor (in 20m pool)
  4. Dive from diving position

 

Level 7: Turtle

  1. 20m catch up with correct breathing (with help from instructor)
  2. 20m butterfly kicks
  3. 40m backstroke with turn
  4. 20m basic breaststroke, breathing + arms
  5. Basic dive from standing position
  6. Backstroke turn

 

Level 8: Seal

  1. 40m crawl with correct breathing
  2. Butterfly one arm + breathing
  3. 40m correct breaststroke arm + breathing
  4. Basic start jump + backstroke start
  5. Basic crawl tumble turn

 

Level 9: Shark

  1. Full crawl + correct breathing
  2. 40m Basic butterfly ( arms and breathing)
  3. 15m under water
  4. Breaststroke turn, start and down sweep kick

 

Level 10: Dolphin

  1. 100m of all competitive strokes
  2. 30m under water
  3. 80m correct individual medley with turns
  4. Turns for all 4 competitive strokes

 

LEVELS FOR ADULTS

 

Level 1: Flamingo

  1. Walk through pool without assistance
  2. Walking across pool with bubbles
  3. Float on back with help
  4. Float on tummy with bubbles
  5. Swim with noodle with assistance
  6. Kick with board with assistance
  7. Blow bubbles through nose & face in water
  8. Glide with face in water with help

 

Level 2: Duckling

  1. Swim alone on noodle
  2. Kicking on kick board alone 20 m
  3. Kicking on back with assistance
  4. Float on tummy and turn on back
  5. Float on tummy with bubbles alone kick for short distances
  6. Glide / push from the side alone

 

Level 3: Duck

  1. Kick with a kick board while blowing bubbles with assistance
  2. Basic catch up 20 m with help
  3. Basic backstroke 20 m with help
  4. Doggy paddle 10 m
  5. Doggy paddle turn on back
  6. 10 m Kicking on side with assistance

 

Level 4: Swan

  1. Kick with board 40 m
  2. Basic catch up with board alone
  3. 1 Arm catch up 10 m alone
  4. Kicking on side 20 m with bubbles
  5. Basic breaststroke kick
  6. 1 arm backstroke 10m alone
  7. Basic dive

 

Level 5: Platypus

  1. 40 m Catch up
  2. 20 m Freestyle
  3. Basic backstroke arms
  4. Basic breaststroke kicks & basic arms
  5. Dolphin kicks

 

Level 6: Penguin

  1. 40 m freestyle
  2. Full backstroke
  3. Butterfly 1 arm
  4. Breaststroke
  5. Tumble turn (freestyle & backstroke)
  6. Basic starts and turns

 

Level 7:  Bronze dolphin

  1. Tumbles and turns all 4 strokes
  2. Full freestyle 100 m
  3. Backstroke 100 m
  4. Breaststroke 100 m
  5. Butterfly 40 m
  6. 80m correct individual Medley with Turns
  7. 15 m underwater

 

Level 8: Silver dolphin

  1. 200 Freestyle with tumble turn under 3:40min
  2. 200 m Backstroke with tumble turn
  3. 200 m Breaststroke with turns
  4. 100 m Butterfly with turns
  5. 30 m underwater

 

Level 9: Gold dolphin

  1. 400 m Freestyle under 6.20min
  2. 100m  Water polo or open water swimming
  3. 100m Free sprint under 1:30min

 

Level 10: Platinum dolphin

  1. 1000m freestyle and turns under 22min
  2. Open water event of a mile
